The State Treasury has begun the integration of other forms of support granted due to the corona pandemic with the temporary business cost support.
The business cost support that could be applied for from the State Treasury from 7 July to 31 August 2020 was intended for companies and associations, whose turnover had fallen significantly due to the corona crisis and which had costs that are difficult to adjust.
Almost all applications have been processed
The State Treasury received 12,875 applications for cost support. Almost all applications have now been processed.
Of the 1,100 demands for rectification that have been received, approximately 900 have been processed.
Subsidies from BF and ELY integrated first
The State Treasury’s task is to integrate other subsidies related to the Covid-19 situation that were granted to companies in 2020 with the temporary business cost support. This means that other subsidies are deducted from the business cost support in whole or in part in accordance with the law. The State Treasury can start the integration once all the subsidies, which a company has applied and have been granted, are known.
The integration starts with business subsidies granted by Business Finland (BF) and Centre for Economic development, Transport and the Environment (ELY). There are about 180 cases to be integrated. For some companies it means that they will be required to pay back the cost support granted to them and for others it may lead to new payments of cost support.
Integration work expected to continue until the turn of the year
The application period is ongoing in some of the grants that are to be integrated.
About half of the restaurant subsidies granted by the KEHA Centre (Development and Administration centre for ELY Centres and TE Offices), where the application period for re-employment support remains until the end of October, have so far been integrated. For this form of support, integration can only be completed at the end of the application period.
The integration work with corona subsidies for 2020 is expected to continue at the State Treasury until the end of the year.
