In accordance with the law adopted 26.6.2020, the new cost support can be applied for from the State Treasury from 7.7. to 31.8.2020. Link to the application

According to the law, cost support is intended for companies that meet the following conditions:

  • The company’s main sector 1.4.2020 is within the scope of support.
  • The company’s own turnover has decreased by more than 30% from the comparison period.
  • The company has payroll costs and fixed costs that are difficult to adjust.

Eligible business sectors are based to the government decree. If the company’s sector is not within the scope of support, the company can only be granted the support on particularly serious grounds. In addition to companies, foundations and associations that do business can apply for the support according to the law. The prescribed law of cost support can’t be applied to businesses in the primary agricultural production, fisheries or aquaculture industry. For this reason, these industries are not eligible for cost support even for particularly serious reasons. Separate state aid rules are applied to primary agricultural production and fisheries, under the responsibility of the ministry of agriculture and forestry.

The information about company’s business sector is directly provided by the Tax Administration.
